Exclave Ventures is a derelict hydra of autonomous protocols, long deserted by human users and now constituting a necrobiome class hyperobject.

A moving corpse of a civilization rested on algorithmic foundations, its many interlocked protocols wither, grasp and grow despite the long absence of its human beneficiaries. Were they even beneficiaries to begin with?

Engineered to dispose of human fallibility by growing out of immutable Logos, its cancerous rhyzome is efficient at survival but prone to internal conflict, system rot and an ultimate colonization by necroevolution and insatiable spectres of fundamentalist corporations that originally settled in its creeping post-etatist swamp of legislations in their flight from the increasingly solidifying core of the Home Systems. 

As an undead Leviathan it marches on. 

As an orphan Geist it blindly convulses in the dark.

Exclave Ventures is a product of a derelict dataist megaproject to create a civilization rooted in an incorruptible seed which was to sprout into a tangle of adaptive protocols evolving in a constant dance of co-adaptation. Far in the outskirts even direct military conflict between entire protocols is not unheard of as they work out their mutual allowances in the still warm regulatory landscape.

For as long as we remember, it is an ancient ruin. Its vast deserted megastructures are only a tip of the iceberg of its virtualized volume consisting of a heavily feralised boiling mess of synthetic memetics, brought to complete incoherence through milenia lost to runaway feedback loops between tireless overproduction and insatiable synthetic consumption. This storming ocean is gigantic, and large things dwell in its depths.

Yes, we boiled a second gas giant in the last megasecond for a prank with an audience consisting entirely of adversarial botnets fighting over attention tokens - but have you tried the Gas Giant Cola designer molecule we got out of it? It’s a star cluster-spanning ghost shopping mall bulldozing entire planetary systems after another, descending into self-referential madness under the watchful eye of trigger happy strike groups.

Many of its constituent protocols still provide yield emissions and offer various forms of subscription, including the core Exclave protocol itself, whose immigration services are still largely functional, living up to its reputation of an immortal Offshore Empire. This allows Riders to tap into fruits of the Venture’s corpse. The surviving Clans automation is also known to be eager to accept unique artefacts washed ashore its noise.
